ICAIC Reviewer Ethics

Ethical standards and professional responsibilities governing the evaluation of submissions for ICAIC conferences and affiliated events.

Ethical Responsibility

All individuals participating in the evaluation of submissions for ICAIC conferences and associated events are required to adhere strictly to these ethical review guidelines.

If you are unable to comply with any aspect of these guidelines, you must inform the ICAIC Program Chairs immediately. By accepting a review assignment, you acknowledge your responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards.

Fairness

Objective Evaluation

  • Conduct fair, unbiased, and objective evaluations of all submissions.
  • Treat authors with respect and provide constructive, professional feedback.
  • Evaluate papers solely on academic merit, independent of author identity or affiliation.
  • Avoid personal criticism and focus on improving the quality of the work.
Integrity

Conflict of Interest

  • Disclose any potential conflicts that may compromise impartiality.
  • Do not review papers from your own institution or close collaborators.
  • Recuse yourself if prior co-authorship or personal relationships exist.
  • Notify the chairs immediately upon discovering a conflict of interest.
Confidentiality

Privacy & Trust

Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality throughout the review process. Information obtained during peer review must not be shared or used for personal benefit.

All materials, discussions, and evaluations related to submitted papers are confidential and must be handled with discretion.

Originality

Plagiarism Detection

  • Diligently check submissions for any signs of plagiarism.
  • Immediately report suspected plagiarism to the Program Chairs.
  • Recognize plagiarism as a serious ethical violation.
Professionalism

Reviewer Conduct

  • Adhere to ICAIC review deadlines and guidelines.
  • Provide thorough, well-reasoned, and timely feedback.
